This day is special for the young hearts who have been eagerly waiting for the release of filmmaker Ayan Mukerji's most-talked about romantic flick Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, that features Bollywood's ex-couple Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone. Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (YJHD) is a spirited cocktail of life about dreams, ambition, hope, eagerness, laughter, music, friendship, love and an absolute treat to the youth.

What’s Good: Aditya Roy Kapur is the killer factor of this film. That’s all there’s to look for in this one.

What’s Bad: A bumpy screenplay and dialogues that are delivered at deafeningly high decibels are quite indigestible.

Loo break: Yes. Yes. Hell Yes.

Watch or Not?: Mohit Suri’s Aashiqui 2 rambles on about a love story that turns into a convoluted mess because of alcoholism. With absolutely nothing remarkable in this distasteful blend of Devdas and Abhimaan, I will recommend this film only for Aditya Roy Kapur’s intense acting.

Dabangg 2 Movie Review

As a producer, Arbaaz Khan hit the nail on the head with the first installment of DABANGG. As a director, he establishes his credentials with DABANGG 2. He gets the mood of the lead actor, has the feel of Brand Dabangg and executes it the way it is meant to be - flashy, with lots of action interspersed with songs; this time from Zandu Balm to Fevicol. There's a double dose of oomph factor as well, with both Munni (Malaika Arora Khan) and Kareena Kapoor dancing to the beat.

You get what you expect, stylized, and digitalized action (Anal Arasu) with Chulbul Pandey (Salman Khan) beating the baddies to pulp. This time, the city is Kanpur, and he is out cleaning the mess. He is up against Bachha Bhai (Prakash Raj) a gangster with political ambitions, and the only time Pandey blinks is when he realizes his wife is pregnant. Otherwise, he is as fearless as in the first installment.

With tons of hypes and hullabaloo surrounding the season's most-awaited movie Jism 2, cine goers long wait to catch the hot Sunny Leone in action finally gets over. After soaring the apprehensions, curiosity and speculation arena, finally the most anticipated sex-thriller saga of the year Jism-2 made it to the celluloid.

Eversince the promulgation about Jism-2 and its leading lady was made, the gossip mills pertaining to the movie never ran out of fuel.

So finally the erotic saga appeared on the silver screen, fetching an opening day occupancy of over 92% at the multiplexes, which primarily comprised of people who wanted to have the first glimpse of Sunny's maiden performance in decorous stream of cinema.

Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum  - Movie Review

is a Bollywood comedy film directed by Sachin Yardi, and produced by Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor. The film is a sequel to the 2005 surprise hit, Kyaa Kool Hai Hum. It stars Tusshar Kapoor and Ritesh Deshmukh from the original cast along with Neha Sharma and Sarah Jane Dias. The film is released on 27th July 2012.

Seven years ago, Kya Kool Hai Hum had ushered the concept of adult comedy. While critically the film was severely panned, the audience had lapped it up making it a roaring success. And the writer of the film Sachin Yardi made his comeback, this time as a director, promising to make his sequel all the more humorous. So does the filmmaker succeed? Partially yes, for the entire first half guarantees a mega laughathon. Replete with double entendre and slick editing with the story moving fast, the first half makes for an entertaining watch. It's commendable for a writer to create innuendos out of literally nothing!

However, the problem arises when too many sub-plots like that of Marlo (Anupam Kher) and 3G baba (Chunky Pandey) and the romantic track start interrupting the laugh riot in the second so much so that it leaves you disappointed by the end. A big issue with the film is its length. At 2hours 20mins, KSKHH ends up being too long-drawn and stretched. By this time, even the quality of humour goes down ranging from plain PJs to SMS jokes.


Adi (Tusshar Kapoor) and Sid (Ritesh Deshmukh) are two out-of-luck men ecking out a living in Mumbai. Aspiring actor Adi acts in those outrageous teleshopping ads while hoping for his ‘big break’. Sid’s DJing skills are wasted on sad Gujarati-gone-wild parties. An astrologer predicts that Adi’s fortunes will turn when he meets the love of his life – whose name will begin with ‘S’. Very soon he bumps into Simi (Neha Sharma) and falls hopelessly in love with her. Not wanting to risk losing her, Adi proposes marriage within a few days of meeting her. Instead, Simi gets freaked out and lies about being a lesbian.

On the other hand, Sid does a gig at a fashion show. His stuck disc distracts a model Anu (Sarah Jane Dias) who trips on her gown and becomes a “wardrobe malfunction” sensation.

When Sid discovers that Adi had proposed to Simi with the diamond that belonged to his (Sid’s) pug Sakru, he decides that they must follow Simi to Goa to retrieve their stone.

Unknown to the duo, Simi and Anu are good friends chilling together in Goa at the latter’s home. And to add to the crazy quotient, Anu’s father (Anupam Kher) is a billionaire being hoodwinked by Baba 3G (Chunky Pandey) into believing that a pug is the reincarnation of his deceased mother.

How Sid manages to woo Anu, Adi tries to win back Simi and lots of weird dog-humping forms the rest of the story.

The Story
Snow White and The Huntsman starts off on a familiar tone. A noble queen, pricked by the thorn of a single blooming rose in her snow covered castle, sees blood drops on the snow and makes a wish: a daughter as white as snow, with blood red lips and ebony black hair. From here the movies gallops, as soon Snow White grows into a beautiful looking teenager, who frolics around the kingdom – which pretty much limited to the castle – with friend and follow-boy William (played by Sam Claffin), saving birds and eating apples. Thereafter, the queen falls ill, dies and a mourning King Magnus (Noah Huntley), who in spite of his sadness marches to face the dark forces, defeats them, chances upon the evil queen Ravenna (Charlize Theron) masked as a prisoner, falls in love, gets married and is killed on his wedding day. The kingdom is taken over by Ravenna’s and her evil forces, and Snow White is imprisoned. From here the story takes a curious turn with a few semblance of the fairytale – like the "mirror, mirror on the wall" line, the poisoned apple trick, and the Huntsman who turns protector and helps Snow White avenge her kingdom. Of course, Snow White escapes all dangerous except the apple and wins. How she manages that is the rest of the story, with a few twists.

Apart from the urgent necessity of reminding us that Will Smith is a movie star (and the usual need to wring a few more dollars out of a profitable franchise), Men in Black 3 arrives in the multiplexes of the world with no particular agenda. Which may be part of the reason it turns out to be so much fun. You don’t need to study up on the previous installments or master a body of bogus fanboy lore to enjoy this movie for the breezy pop throwaway it is. Your expectations may be pleasantly low, and you may therefore be pleasantly surprised when they are exceeded.

The first Men in Black movie, a playful adaptation of Lowell Cunningham’s offbeat comic books, was released 15 years ago, and a decade has gone by since the sequel — called Men in Black 2 and every bit as memorable as its name — cashed in big and skyrocketed into the realm of bloated, tongue-in-cheek, special-effects-heavy spectacle. No. 3, directed by Barry Sonnenfeld from a script by Etan Cohen, starts out somewhat dispiritingly in that tapped-out vein, with a barrage of state-of-the-art weaponry, meticulously rendered slime and jokes that seem more than a little stale. There are no talking dogs and not too many references to the earlier installments.

Tomar was a steeplechase runner. Not that it made any difference to his destiny. In the army for the long innings Tomar, we are told, took voluntary retirement to look after his family and land in his native village.

This is where Dhulia’s riveting screenplay, where not a moment is squandered in self-indulgent editing, gets truly astounding. Abandoning the manageable hurdles of the steeplechase Tomar took to the gun to avenge the wrong done to his family.

There are hurdles, and hurdles. And some impossible to overcome.

The two lives of Paan Singh Tomar, in the army as a celebrated sportsperson and as an outlaw on the run in the Chambal valley (not on a horse, please!) are brought together in a stirring blend of the brilliant and the haunting.

The weekend figures are a perfect example of how a content driven film can be optimally built through a focused marketing and distribution campaign, coupled with great reviews and positive word-of-mouth,” Siddharth Roy Kapur, CEO, UTV Motion Pictures told IANS.


“We are incredibly proud of Irrfan, Tigmanshu and the entire team of ‘Paan Singh Tomar’ for creating a movie that is sure to go down in the history of Indian cinema,” he added.

What is classic in every sense though is Irrfan Khan’s performance. Be it his transformation from an innocent army recruit to a feared dacoit or his ageing from a 20+ man to a 50+ man, he is flawless. Here is an actor who doesn’t need dialogues to convey what he feels – he just looks and that’s enough. Don’t remember the last time an actor’s eyes came out of the screen and touched me. He plays Paan Singh with just the right amount of innocence, intensity and dignity – he is the reason why Paan Singh never stops being a heroic figure.

The supporting cast is very good too. Mahie Gill’s earthy sensuality helps elevate her already good performance. Bijendra Kala is brilliant as the bumbling journalist, he shares a wonderful chemistry with Irrfan in their scenes together. Rajendra Gupta, Zakir Hussain and all the other not-much-known actors are perfect for their roles.
